Training Program

 

Bioethics Training at Bioethics Center, University of Louvain (UCL)

Fogarty scholars follow a customized bioethics training program at the UCL Bioethics Center. The strengths of the program lie in its critical, interdisciplinary, and pragmatic approach. The varied program provides Fogarty bioethics scholars with a solid theoretical and practical training in bioethics and research ethics by means of lectures, seminars, practical exercises and mentored research. In view of obtaining a Master's level degree in Bioethics, Fogarty bioethics scholars choose from the following set of required and optional courses:

Scholars are also required to write a publication-quality paper on a bioethics or research ethics theme, containing a comprehensive scientific bibliography.

 

During their training period, Fogarty scholars also participate in activities held within the Bioethics Center and other bioethics meetings and events in Western Europe. In the academic year 2004-2005, these activities included:
