Three members of the Clinical Ethics Discussion Group showcased their research at the AOE Evening of Scholarship in June. Medical students Matt Washko, Reece Carter, and Celia Mizelle developed an innovative study exploring first-year medical students’ perception of their fundamental skills in addressing ethical issues in clinical practice. Their intervention of interest, with pre and post-assessments,  was a workshop where students and ethics consultants from the Hospital Ethics Committee discussed cases and examined various moral approaches. Center members Maggie Waltz, Jean Cadigan, and Arlene Davis assisted in the project design and analysis.

In the photo below Matt Washko and Arlene Davis get ready to present the study poster.
