Congratulations to the first cohort of residents on the completion of our Clinical Ethics (CE) Pathway: Ghallia Kaouk, Calvin Gross and Rohit Jaswaney!

Get to know the cohort

Gallia Kaouk, M.D.

Ghallia KaoukGhallia earned her medical degree from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine and joined the CE pathway during her time as a pediatric resident.

For her, Carolina had every factor she was looking for in a pediatrics residency program: a Level I Trauma Center, a pediatric ED, a PICU with ECMO capabilities, a Level IV NICU, a Complex Care Clinic, global health and refugee health opportunities, and a tertiary care center seeing a wide range of pathology from a large catchment area.

Ghallia is now completing a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Calvin Gross, M.D., MTS

Calvin GrossCalvin is originally from Charlotte and attended Princeton University where he majored in the classics.

As a medical student in the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine, he sought to understand the deep connections we make with our patients, so he completed a Master of Theological Studies degree through the Duke Divinity School, focusing on theology and ethics.

Calvin joined the CE pathway as an internal medicine resident and is now completing a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
