Julianna Fischer grew up in Wake Forest, North Carolina, and graduated with a B.A.Ed in Human Development & Family Studies from UNC-Chapel Hill. During her two gap years, Julianna worked as a care assistant at UNC Internal Medicine Clinic (IMC). At UNC IMC, she worked closely with the Social Work team in care management and participated in the clinic’s Medication for Opioid Use Disorder Steering Committee. Julianna first became interested in ethics during a high school philosophy class, and specifically in clinical ethics through her work with the Social Work team at UNC IMC. She has interests in health equity, harm reduction for people who use drugs, and is eager to continue learning about bioethics through HEC and CEDG!
