Rita is the project director for the PRomoting Equity for Pregnant Adolescents in Research (PREPARE) project at the Center for Bioethics.
She completed her bachelor’s in medicine and surgery (MBChB) from the University of Nairobi and pursued a Master of Science in global health at the Duke Global Health Institute where she conducted research on the barriers and facilitators of transition from the adolescent to adult HIV care among young adults living with HIV. Her research interests include the ethical considerations in HIV clinical trials and the development of interventions aimed at reducing health disparities.
