Announcing a new MA degree in

Literature, Medicine and Culture

at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill

 

Beginning Fall, 2014, in collaboration with faculty from
The School of Medicine
The School of Social Work
The School of Journalism and Mass Communications
The Departments of:
Social Medicine,
Anthropology,
History,
Philosophy and
Romance Languages,
and
The Center for Bioethics,

The Department of English and Comparative Literature will enroll candidates for the MA in Literature, Medicine and Culture.

This thirty-hour curriculum will offer candidates a theoretical, topical and practical grounding in interdisciplinary studies of medicine. Faculty from Arts and Sciences will co-teach with clinicians from the School of Medicine in a diverse range of offerings drawn from fields across the University. Candidates will also have opportunities for fieldwork in a 700-bed teaching hospital and satellite clinics.
