Prior to joining the Graduate School of Journalism, she was a professor of history and the Mellon Fellow in Health and Humanities at Emory University and an award-winning health columnist for the Los Angeles Times, where she wrote the “Esoterica Medica,” “Nutrition Lab,” and “Supplements” columns.

Heidi J. Larson, Ph.D., is a Professor of Anthropology, Risk and Decision Science and is the Founding Director of the Vaccine Confidence Project at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. She is also a Clinical Professor of Health Metrics Sciences at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, and a Guest Professor at the University of Antwerp, Belgium.
