Ghallia enjoys writing (especially narrative medicine), reading, playing basketball, and watching anime. She was in choir during college and plays three musical instruments – guitar, ukulele, and piano! For her, UNC had every factor she was looking for in a pediatrics residency program: a Level I Trauma Center, a pediatric ED, a PICU with ECMO capabilities, a Level IV NICU, a Complex Care Clinic, global health and refugee health opportunities, and a tertiary care center seeing a wide range of pathology from a large catchment area. From her experiences as a UNC medical student and her interactions on the interview day, UNC truly stood out to her as the most vibrant, welcoming program with a culture of kindness and compassion.
