Arlene Davis was awarded the 2013 UNC School of Medicine Innovation in Teaching Award, for her work in clinical ethics education for SOM residency programs, and “for all she has done to improve cultural understanding, staff interaction and patient care at UNC.”

Stuart Rennie was promoted to Associate Professor in the UNC Department of Social Medicine. Well deserved, after many years of successful academic bootstrapping!

Annie Lyerly was appointed to the National Ethics Committee of the March of Dimes. Other committees and commissions come and go, but since this is (de facto) a lifetime appointment, it is a little like ascending to the Supreme Court of Bioethics!
